Lately I’ve been getting a TON of questions about skincare. This DIY olive oil scrub is my holy grail. It will clear up almost any skin problem you have like acne, eczema, discoloration, dryness etc. The best part is that you can use it just about anywhere on your body! A lot of scrubs range between $20-$50 and some contain artificial perfumes that can break your skin out. Keep some extra dollars in your pocket by grabbing what you need out of your own kitchen. Let’s get started!

You’ll need:

  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Granulated Sugar
  • Bowl/Plate
  • Spoon/Fork

Directions For Making The Scrub:
*Adjust measurements depending on where you’re using it. For a larger area like your legs or feet, use a lot more sugar and oil. For these directions I’m telling you how much I made to use on my face*

Step 1:
Gather your materials
Step 2: Pour out your sugar. Since I was only using it on my face this time, I poured out about one to two tablespoons.
Step 3: Pour some olive oil. I usually eyeball this. If I had to estimate I would say I poured one tablespoon.
Step 4: MIX! Keep mixing until you get a lime greenish highlighter color.
Step 5: Check your consistency. If it doesn’t move off your spoon when you turn it over, it’s too thick. If it literally spills off your spoon then it’s too runny. You know you have it perfect when it’s goopy and comes off your spoon/fork in little clumps.

How To Apply:

  1. Take some into your hands and rub them together slightly.
  2.  Make sure your skin is clean and dry! Apply to the area in a circular motion. Your speed should depend on how sensitive the area is. Keep in mind that your goal is to remove dead skin so you shouldn’t be extremely gentle. Do this for about 3-4 minutes or until you feel like you really scrubbed the area well.
  3. Leave it on for 3 minutes. Then rinse the area with cold water. Cold water seals in the moisture that the oil provides making your skin even softer. Hot water only dries it out more.
  4. Proceed to act a fool around your house & babble about how your skin is so soft.

I’m not lying when I tell you that I absolutely LOVE this scrub. Your skin will be baby soft after one use. For my face I use it twice a week and I’ll apply wherever else I want when I need to. It’s also perfect for your hands and feet. TMI time! If you find that the bottoms of your feet are getting hard or crusty, ditch the pumice stone or scary graters and use this scrub instead. You’ll feel like you just got a pedicure. This also did wonders for a dry patch I had on my hand because of eczema. Just to warn you if you have facial discoloration: Your skin might appear slightly blotchy but that’s only because it’s evening out your skin tone. Don’t fret! Keep up with it and you will see great results. People will keep asking you how you get your skin so soft and this will be your little secret ;) Stay bossy bitches
